The Lost World - Alternated Round-Up Scene

The Lost World Round-Up scene....what it would have been. From the concept art of Jules Kmetzko, the three hadrosaurs: Corythosaurus, Hadrosaurus, and Maiasaura were planned to make an appearance during the round-up scene. It's unfortunate that these dinosaurs were removed from the film's final production, however; the Corythosaurus would later appear in the following sequel (Jurassic Park III), but that Corythosaurus is not the same species. I'll be sure further discuss later in my next project involving the Jurassic franchise.

But it's best to give a least two out of the three hadrosaurs the credit they deserved. Many speculate, Steven Spielberg already had enough dinosaurs for this scene and would distract the audience of the main round-up star Parasaurolophus. However I don't see this problem. So here are both Corythosaurus and Hadrosaurus in the round-up scene.

I decided to use both Corythosaurus and Hadrosaurus for this scene. The main reason were that their color designs were already described in storyboards and concept arts for both JP (1993) and TLW.

Removed the Hadrosaurus with another Corythosaurus, paying homage to Jurassic Park III's hadrosaur stampede; the Cory's head is taken from JPIII. Like previously a map of shadows and highlights were added over the hadrosaur for realism.

Corythosaurus is made one of the dominant hadrosaurs in the round-up scene. Figured this was more appropriate primarily due to the concept art making into the film. The InGen Site B Dino Sheet nods to this species of Corythosaurus being on the island.

Slided in on the left is an Edmontosaurus (Anatotitan) for good measure....yes they're on Sorna too. Rewatch the film or play the Arcade game to find those easter eggs.

The Lost World Arcade, is the only role appearance the Anatotitan was featured in.
